The North Naples property, located on the north side of Vanderbilt Beach Road, is bordered to the east by the Winn-Dixie anchored Mission Hills Shopping Center on Collier Boulevard, to the west by The Falls of Portofino townhomes, and to the north by preserve area for the Black Bear Ridge subdivision.
The new developers hope to eventually see businesses such as restaurants there, as well as possibly medical, retail and financial services.
The planned unit development is still zoned residential, but an effort is underway to amend the PUD to permit 250,000 square feet for commercial land use. The amendment would allow up to 100,000 square feet for self-storage units, up to 90,000 square feet for retail use and up to 60,000 square feet for office use.
