According to the Naples Area Board of Realtors, sales slipped while days on the market dipped in January from a year earlier.
Pending sales dropped 23 percent in January, to 847 from 1,103, while closed sales were down 11 percent, to 571 from 645. Pending sales fell in all regions of Collier County.
Closed sales decreased in all regions except for North Naples, where they rose 8 percent, to 171 from 159. The average days on the market fell too, down 14 percent to 75 from 87.
NABOR president, Rick Fioretti, said that this slip was very odd. “You have a big slowing in pendings, and yet properties are selling faster. That makes me wonder if January is a trend or a fluke.” He also said that warmer weather up north probably kept more potential buyers away from the area.
