Lee County Groups Merging

Uncategorized

According to the Naples Daily News, two Lee County real estate trade groups said that their respective memberships have voted to approve the merger.

The boards of the Cape Coral Association of Realtors and the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach said the merger is expected to take place January 1st.

It will bring the combined organization of 6,000 members – including some in Bonita Springs and Estero – who will have access to three offices, two in Fort Myers and one in Cape Coral.

Among the benefits of blending the two groups are the ability to share technology; widen access to staff members and educational programs; gain greater visibility in the community and real estate industry; and reduce due costs for members.

The National Board of Realtors, the umbrella trade group, still needs to approve the union. So delegates from the board of directors for the two organizations plan to come up with a new name, bylaws and board of directors for the combined organization, and will submit them along with the merger request to NAR.

The merger will not affect multiple listing service usage, since both groups already share data and use the same software, Matrix.
